Awards

Most website awards are pretty meaningless. I've received a few, and most are just to drum up traffic for the judge's site. A couple, though, have really given me a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. This page is where those special awards live.

Golden Laurel Award for Web Site ExcellenceOctober 15, 2001
My site received a glowing review and award from Readaholics.com. An excerpt: "Your site was very cool and we learned things about RD that we never knew... We were impressed with your determination to highlight this talented author, and making your site THE place to visit for information about him. We were especially impressed with your Student Help and Teacher Ideas pages. Having been a teacher, I'm impressed with anyone who has the insight enough to help in any way they can. Your site is easy on the eyes and tres informative."

Award from Surfing the Net with KidsOctober 2, 2001
My site has been awarded a five-star "Spectacular!" rating in Barbara Feldman's syndicated newspaper column "Surfing the Web with Kids". She writes: "This site is tops for homework help, ideas for teachers, and just plain fun. Strengths are Howard's Dahl biography, time line and photo gallery; the thirteen original Dahl trivia quizzes and crossword puzzles; and the photo essays of Howard's tour of Dahl's Gipsy House in Great Missenden, England (where she met the original Big Friendly Giant.)" Thanks, Barbara!
