July 4, 2016 –
Fans of Roald Dahl's The BFG will feel positively hopscotchy at the news that Reynold Poernomo's Koi Dessert Bar in Sydney's Chippendale is set to be transformed into a pop-up eatery inspired by Disney's film adaptation of the beloved book.
The film opens in Australian cinemas from June 30. Poernomo, who was a favourite on the 2015 season of MasterChef, worked with Walt Disney Studios to create a "frothbugglingly filthsome three-course meal" for the one-off event, on July 4 from 1pm-6pm.
The 22-year-old says parents and children aged 6 and over will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis at the restaurant – rebranded Rotsome for the day – to enjoy free samples of fictional foodstuffs such as the snozzcumber and frobscottle.
