Boy at Polka Theatre
May 2, 2002 - June 8, 2002

FlierFrom the Polka Theatre website:

He's one of the top children's writers of all time and the creator of immortal characters, such as The BFG, Matilda and Danny Champion of the World.

Now meet the characters from Roald Dahl's own schooldays. Like the loathsome Mrs Pratchett, the child-hating sweet-shop owner with the blouse covered in breakfast. Or Matron, who would prowl the corridors of the school dormitory at night, just waiting to pounce on any child who made a sound. And then there are the schoolmasters, and they really know how to keep the children in line...

The stories he has to tell are frank and funny, touching and sometimes shocking. But they're all told in the inimitable style which has made Dahl so popular among children the world over. And they're all true.

Adapted by the award-winning Mike Kenny, Polka tells Dahl's childhood tales in all their grotesque glory. This will be unmissable!
